The small historic village of Tarago is about 40 kilometres south of Goulburn on Braidwood Road. It exhibits some significant historic buildings including the Anglican Church and Loaded Dog Hotel. The hotel was a meeting place for various bushrangers including the infamous Ben Hall. The hotel retains the original stone, brick and timber of that era.
